Origin:A Thousand-Year Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Protection

Furong Ancient Town

The Source of Cultural Heritage—Zhu Xi and the Nine-Bend Boat Song
"On Mount Wuyi are immortals,and below the mountain,the cold stream meanders clear..."More than 800 years ago,the great Confucian scholar Zhu Xi built a hermitage in Mount Wuyi and lectured for over forty years,writing the timeless masterpiece"Nine-Bend Boat Song,"infusing this landscape with an immortal soul.The Wuyi Academy along the Nine-Bend Stream,the Xingxian Academy in Wufu Ancient Town,and the Ziyang Tower still allow us to trace Zhu Xi's footsteps.The name Wuyi Mountain is also linked to the ancient legend of Peng Zu opening the mountain and achieving immortality,making it a place of Taoist cultivation since ancient times.

The Path of Protection—From Dual World Heritage Sites to National Park
The modern story of Wuyi Mountain is an ecological model of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature:

Dual World Heritage Site designation(1999):Approved as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site by UNESCO,ushering in a new era of protection.

National Park establishment(2021):Selected as one of the first batch of national parks,becoming the only city in China to possess both"dual World Heritage Sites"and a national park.

Ecological protection innovation:Constructing a"layered"protection pattern,delineating a protection and development zone around the national park;innovating a"three-in-one"ecological patrol mechanism,using intelligent monitoring to protect the clear waters and red mountains.

Green transformation practice:Promoting the ecological tea garden model,90%of the city's tea gardens have been transformed into green ecological tea gardens,and the total output value of the tea industry chain has exceeded 17 billion yuan.

Nature's Creation–The Breath and Pulse of Azure Waters and Crimson Mountains
The natural landscape of Wuyi Mountain is an eternal dance of water,stone,and mist.

The Vibrant Water:The Lifeblood of the Nine-Bend Stream
Nine-Bend Stream Bamboo Rafting:As the soul of Wuyi Mountain,the Nine-Bend Stream gets its name from its nine bends as it winds around the mountains.Drifting downstream on a bamboo raft,each bend offers a different view:the first bend reveals shimmering water and mountains,the second the Jade Maiden Peak stands gracefully,and the third the mysterious boat coffins on the cliff face inspire contemplation…The entire trip takes about 1.5 hours.Looking up,you can admire the mountain scenery;looking down,you can appreciate the water's beauty;listening,you can hear the stream's murmur;and touching the clear water is just a touch away.The best time to experience this is in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is soft and there are fewer tourists.

Qinglong Waterfall and Longchuan Grand Canyon:Hidden gems within the national park,waterfalls cascade down cliffs,creating a misty atmosphere and an abundance of negative ions,making them an ideal summer retreat for water activities.

Rugged Rocks:Silent Chronicles of Danxia Landforms
Tianyou Peak:Known as"A trip to Wuyi Mountain is incomplete without visiting Tianyou Peak."848 steps lead straight to the clouds.From the summit,the Nine-Bend Stream winds like a jade ribbon,and the peaks appear as islands floating above the clouds,offering the best panoramic view of Wuyi Mountain.The best viewing time is 6:00 AM,when you can witness the sunrise over the sea ofclouds—a dreamlike spectacle.

A Line of Sky and Tiger Roaring Rock:The Right Line of Sky is renowned for its narrowness and peril,with its narrowest point only 30 centimeters wide,testing both strength and courage.Tiger Roaring Rock's"Hero's Slope"offers a panoramic view of the canyon,where the cliff-carved Buddha statues of Tiancheng Temple blend seamlessly with the natural mountain landscape.

Strange Rocks and Peaks:The beauty of Jade Maiden Peak,the grandeur of King Peak,and the ruggedness of Eagle Beak Rock—each peak possesses its own legend and character.

Hidden Greenery:Breathing Forest Oxygen Chambers
Wuyi Mountain boasts the largest and best-preserved subtropical forest ecosystem in Southeast China,renowned as"the world of insects,the paradise of birds,and the kingdom of snakes."Encounters with Tibetan macaques and silver pheasants are common while hiking.A morning stroll through the forest,with its interplay of mist and light,is the perfect time for a"forest bath."

The natural landscape of Wuyi Mountain is far more than just"viewing";it's about"immersion"and"breathing."

Humanistic Ingenuity—A Civilization Interwoven with the Fragrance of Tea and Books
The culture here is not just history,but also the everyday life lived in.

The Da Hong Pao Mother Trees and the Rocky Bone and Fragrant Flower Trail:On the cliffs of Jiulongke,six thousand-year-old Da Hong Pao mother trees are hailed as the"Kings of Tea."Hiking along the Rock Bone and Fragrant Flower Trail to the Water Curtain Cave offers a scenic route through terraced tea fields and babbling brooks.Along the way,you can enjoy the aroma of tea and visit ancient temples.The entire journey takes approximately 3-4 hours and is the best route to experience the terroir of Wuyi Rock Tea.

Wuyi Academy and Zhu Xi Cultural Relics:Located on the banks of the Nine-Bend Stream,Wuyi Academy was where Zhu Xi lectured.The Xingxian Academy and Ziyang Tower in Wufu Ancient Town still allow you to feel the cultural heritage of Zou and Lu.Annual Zhu Xi sacrificial ceremonies and teacher-respecting ceremonies ensure the living transmission of traditional culture.

Xiamei Ancient Residences:The starting point of the Tea Road,this well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architectural complex,including the Zou Clan Ancestral Hall and the Dafu Residence,bears witness to the past prosperity of the tea market.

Impression Dahongpao Live Performance:Set against the backdrop of Wuyi Mountain's natural landscape and themed around tea culture,this 360-degree rotating audience area blends the scenery with light and shadow,offering an excellent way to understand Wuyi tea culture.

Photography Tips:
The best panoramic view is from the top of Tianyou Peak,encompassing both the Nine-Bend Stream and the surrounding peaks;
The bamboo raft on the Nine-Bend Stream is ideal for photographing the cliffs and their reflections;
The Rocky Bone and Fragrant Flower Trail is a superb location for capturing tea gardens and the interplay of light and shadow;

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
