Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. Q & A

Asked by Bess Dewey from Ireland | July 29,2025 16:32
Are there any “taboos” or customs I should know about when visiting?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 29,2025 16:38
No major taboos—just common sense: don’t touch the glass (it leaves smudges), avoid loud talking (other visitors want to enjoy the museum), and no flash photos (to protect artifacts). The Shu people’s beliefs are long-lost, so there’s no cultural disrespect in taking photos or asking questions. Our guide will remind you of the basics, but it’s a relaxed atmosphere—focus on enjoying the mystery!
Asked by Bray from Chile | July 29,2025 16:13
What’s the most “mind-blowing” artifact at Sanxingdui?
I want to know which one I shouldn’t miss, even if I’m short on time.
Answered by intotravelchina | July 29,2025 16:37
The "bronze sacred tree" (青铜神树, qīngtóng shénshù) is unmissable. At 3.96m tall (13ft), it's the largest ancient bronze artifact ever found in China. It has 9 branches, each with a bird (likely representing the sun), a coiled dragon at its base, and a phoenix at the top. Its symbolism—connecting heaven, earth, and the underworld—feels almost otherworldly. Stand next to it, and you’ll feel tiny—it’s shocking to think they built this 3,000 years ago.
Asked by Susan Babbitt from Brazil | July 29,2025 15:46
What’s the difference between Sanxingdui and the Jinsha Site?
They’re both Shu culture, sp should I visit both, or are they redundant?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 29,2025 16:36
They’re complementary, not redundant! Sanxingdui (1200-300 BCE) is older, focusing on dramatic, large-scale bronze art (masks, sacred trees) used in grand rituals. Jinsha (1000-300 BCE) is later, with more jade, gold (like the “Sun God Bird” foil), and smaller, everyday artifacts—showing how Shu culture evolved. Sanxingdui feels “mystical” and ritualistic; Jinsha feels more “lived-in.” Many guests do both—they tell a full story of the ancient Shu. Our guide can help you add Jinsha to your itinerary if you’re interested!
Asked by Rodney Bernal from Canada | July 29,2025 15:28
Are there English explanations in the museum?
or will I need to rely entirely on the tour guide? I like to read details at my own pace.
Answered by intotravelchina | July 29,2025 16:36
The museum has excellent English signage for all key artifacts, with detailed descriptions of their discovery, materials, and possible uses. You can also rent an English audio guide ($6) that plays commentary as you approach each exhibit—perfect for reading at your own pace. Our guide will add extra insights, though: stories about the 1986 excavators, or how the bronze was smelted (they used advanced techniques for 3,000 years ago!). No more staring at artifacts wondering, “What is this?”
Asked by Cliff Gill from US | July 29,2025 15:01
can I take photos inside the museum?
The bronze artifacts look incredible, but I’ve heard some ancient sites ban flash.
Answered by intotravelchina | July 29,2025 16:36
Flash photography is banned (to protect the bronze from damage), but natural light shots are allowed! The museum’s lighting is designed to highlight the artifacts—soft, warm tones make the bronze masks and gold pieces glow. The giant sacred tree is in a well-lit hall, so you can get stunning full shots without flash. At the archaeological site, wide-angle photos of the pits and surrounding fields (with Sichuan’s green hills in the background) are perfect—morning light (when we visit) adds a magical touch.
