 Breakfast

After breakfast you will visit Huanglong. Huanglong National Park is located in Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is renowned for its stunning travertine lakes and ponds, deep mountain valleys, majestic snow-capped peaks, and serene wild forests, earning it the titles of "Wonder of the World" and "Paradise on Earth." The park is home to many notable accolades, including UNESCO World Natural Heritage status, World Biosphere Reserve designation, and Green Globe 21 certification, among others.

Huanglong National Park comprises Huanglong Valley, Danyu Gorge, Xuebao Peak, and Munigou Valley. However, only Huanglong Valley and Munigou Valley are well-maintained and developed for visitors, while the other two areas are primarily explored by hikers.

Upon arriving at Huanglong, you can first hike up the mountain. Once at the summit, you can pass through Wanglongping to reach the Five-Color Ponds. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle to the ponds, which takes only a few minutes. For descending, it’s recommended to take the cable car, as the downhill views mainly feature calcified landscapes without the ponds. This way, hiking up allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of Huanglong, while taking the cable car down saves energy. Exploring the entire scenic area takes approximately 5-6 hours. After the tour, we will drive to Jiuzhaigou.

 Jiuzhaigou Valley

 4+stars Hotel

 Breakfast

Jiuzhaigou is renowned for its crystal-clear lakes, vibrant waterfalls, and pristine forests. With its transparent waters and towering peaks, it is often called a "paradise on earth." The scenic area has three main routes: Zechawa Valley, Rize Valley, and Shuzheng Valley, which can be explored through a combination of shuttle bus rides and walking.

Route 1: Zechawa Valley (18 km)

From the highest point, Changhai (Long Lake), to Nuorilang, this route is approximately 18 km. It’s recommended to walk the 750-meter stretch from Changhai to the Five-Color Pond, which takes about an hour, including time for photography.

Changhai (Long Lake): Jiuzhaigou’s largest lake, with an ink-blue surface, often described as a "heavenly colored ribbon."

Five-Color Pond: The smallest but most stunning lake in Jiuzhaigou, its colors shift under sunlight, creating a mesmerizing palette.

Route 2: Rize Valley (17 km)

From the highest point, Primeval Forest, to Nuorilang, this route is about 17 km. It’s recommended to hike the 1,500-meter stretch from Grass Sea to Swan Lake and the 500-meter path from Pearl Shoal to Mirror Lake. The full tour takes about five hours.

Arrow Bamboo Lake: A filming location for the movie Hero, surrounded by arrow bamboo, the favorite food of giant pandas.

Five-Flower Lake: A multicolored lake displaying hues of yellow, navy, green, and sapphire.

Mirror Lake: Known for its still surface, reflecting the surrounding scenery like a perfect mirror.

Route 3: Shuzheng Valley (7.9 km)

This route stretches from Nuorilang to Bonsai Lake, covering 7.9 km. Visitors can walk or take the shuttle to explore as much as they wish.

Nuorilang Waterfall: One of Jiuzhaigou’s most famous waterfalls, standing 25 meters high. It was featured in the ending scenes of the 1986 Journey to the West TV series.

Shuzheng Lakes: A chain of 19 connected lakes where trees grow in water and streams flow through forests.

Reed Lake: A unique sight where a blue ribbon of water winds through a sea of reeds.

Each route offers a unique perspective of Jiuzhaigou's breathtaking beauty, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

Notes for Visitors:

1.  Jiuzhaigou is at a relatively high altitude. Visitors are advised to keep warm and carry a sweater or jacket.

2.  Please be mindful of environmental protection. Avoid spitting or littering.

3.  Follow the regulations of the nature reserve. Hunting and picking plants are strictly prohibited.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. Q & A

Asked by Nina Whit from Ireland | July 31,2025 11:17
What’s the best time of day to see pandas active?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:21
Morning (9–11 AM) is ideal, as pandas are most active after breakfast. Afternoons often find them napping.
Asked by Ruby Keynes from UK | July 31,2025 10:52
Is there a dress code for visiting Tibetan villages near Jiuzhaigou?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:21
Dress modestly—cover shoulders and knees. Remove hats indoors and avoid wearing black (associated with mourning in Tibetan culture).
Asked by Nigel Aly from US | July 31,2025 10:36
What should I pack for Huanglong’s high altitude? Are there any health precautions?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:21
Pack layers (temperatures drop sharply), sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness. If you have heart/lung issues, consult a doctor before visiting.
Asked by Jeames from Canada | July 31,2025 10:35
Are there any must-try local snacks near the hotel in Chengdu?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:22
Absolutely! Near most downtown hotels, you’ll find street vendors selling zhongba (glutinous rice cakes), danhonggao (red bean cakes), and sichuan lawei (spicy skewers). Try Jinli Ancient Street for authentic options.
Asked by Robeson from Fiji | July 31,2025 10:14
I love bird watching.
are there any notable bird species in Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong that I might spot?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:22
Yes! Jiuzhaigou is home to golden pheasants, blue-eared pheasants, and various waterfowl (around Reed Lake). Huanglong’s forests have Himalayan monals (vibrant, colorful birds) and woodpeckers. Early mornings are best for spotting them—our guide knows prime locations and can help identify species if you bring binoculars.
Asked by Haydn from Malawi | July 31,2025 09:47
Are there any cultural taboos I should avoid?
especially in Tibetan areas (Chuanzhusi Town) or Taoist sites (Mount Qingcheng)
Answered by intotravelchina | July 31,2025 11:22
In Tibetan areas: Avoid touching prayer flags or religious artifacts without permission; never step over someone’s prayer beads. In Taoist temples: Remove hats before entering main halls; don’t point at statues with your finger (use an open palm instead). Our guide will review these taboos on Day 1, ensuring you show respect while enjoying the culture.
