Hotel--Wuzhizhou Island--Houhai Village--Return to Hotel

4+ stars Hotels

Breakfast & Lunch

After breakfast at the hotel, take a car to the pier and then a boat to the stunning Wuzhizhou Island. Located 2.7 km from the coast, the island is shaped like a butterfly and covers 1.48 square kilometers. It faces Nanwan Monkey Island to the north and borders Yalong Bay to the south—known as the most beautiful bay in China. The surrounding waters are crystal-clear with visibility ranging from 6 to 27 meters. The area is rich in marine life such as night-light conchs, sea cucumbers, lobsters, mackerels, sea urchins, pomfrets, and colorful tropical fish. The southern waters are home to well-preserved coral reefs, making it one of the best diving spots in China.

Must-Visit on the Island:

Sunview Rock (Guanri Yan): Located on the island’s southeastern cliffs, offering panoramic views of the entire island and the vast South China Sea—an excellent spot to watch the sunrise.

Seaside Boardwalk: A peaceful trail to enjoy clear waters, crabs on the rocks, and tropical fish (if you're lucky).

Electric shuttle tours are available to circle the island comfortably.

For the adventurous, the island offers helicopter tours and outdoor wind tunnel flying experiences, providing unique ways to explore by air, sea, and underwater. Whether you’re a diving enthusiast or an extreme sports lover, you’ll find your paradise here.

Dining on the Island:
Options include the Flamingo Restaurant and the Coastal BBQ Night Market. Must-try dishes include coconut chicken hotpot, tropical fruit platters, freshly caught seafood, and refreshing summer drinks.

Optional Activities (Additional Cost):
Jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, banana boating, kayaking, parasailing, bouncing boats, beach ATVs, water parachutes, reef diving, coral reef diving, etc.

Travel Tips:

  1. Sun & Mosquito Protection: Strong UV rays—bring sun protection gear and sunglasses. Jungle areas may have mosquitoes.

  2. Diving Restrictions: Those with high blood pressure or heart conditions should avoid high-risk activities.

  3. Environmental Protection: No collecting coral or harming marine life.

After the island, head to Houhai Village, uniquely nestled between Houhai Bay (north), Queen's Bay (south), and Haitang Bay (east). This peninsula retains the charm of a traditional fishing village, where fishing boats dock at the pier. You can try "reef fishing" or purchase fresh seafood for local-style processing. In the evening, enjoy bonfire parties and live music on the beach—laid-back and vibrant.

Queen’s Bay is known for its consistent, multi-angle waves, making it ideal for surfers of all levels. From October to April is peak surfing season—earning it the title "China's No.1 Surfing Village."

Local Food Highlights:
Grilled scallops, prawns, peppered crab, bamboo rice, Hainan-style coconut rice, cooling desserts like qing bu liang, and nourishing chicken porridge.

Tips for Houhai Visit:
Use high-SPF sunscreen and sunhats. Always follow your surf instructor’s guidance and obey ocean safety signs. Help keep the beach clean by not littering.

After the visit, return to your hotel for a well-earned rest. If you have more time, you can explore Sanya at your own pace in the evening.

Recommended Evening Activities:

  1. First Market Night Bazaar: Sanya’s oldest and most iconic night market. Enjoy seafood, tropical fruits, and Hainan snacks like qing bu liang, baoluo noodles, and Lingshui sour noodles.

  2. Bars and Lounges: Popular with backpackers—great for sipping cocktails with sea views.

  3. Show Recommendation – The Legend of Sanya: A grand live performance showcasing Hainan’s rich culture with impressive stage effects.

Transportation Tip:
You can fly into Sanya Phoenix International Airport, which offers direct connections to major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Kunming, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Seoul, Busan, Osaka, and more.

Accommodation Tip:
Consider staying near Haitang Bay or Sanya Bay, or contact an Intotravelchina consultant for tailored hotel booking or recommendations.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
