Our first stop after arriving in Harbin, China, was to go straight to the Ice and Snow World. This is a dreamland that combines ice and snow art, entertainment and culture. Walking into this kingdom of ice and snow, the scene in front of us is breathtaking. The huge ice and snow sculptures sparkle under the colorful lights, as if we are in a fairy tale world. 

We strolled among these Ice Sculptures and felt the miracles created by artists with ice and snow. From the magnificent castles to the exquisite works of art, each place exudes a unique charm that makes people linger.

A Blend of History and Art: The Majesty of Saint Sophia Cathedral

Then we came to the landmark building of Harbin, Saint Sophia Cathedral. This Baroque-style church attracts countless tourists with its magnificent appearance and gorgeous interior decoration. In winter, the church is covered with snow, which makes it look particularly solemn and sacred. 

We walked into the church, looking up at the towering dome and exquisite murals, and our hearts were filled with awe. This is not only a religious place, but also a witness to Harbin's History and Culture.

 

 

Romantic Strolls: The Elegance of Central Street

Strolling along Central Street felt like stepping back in time to an era of romance and passion. This historic pedestrian street, with over a century of history, showcases a blend of Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau architectural styles.

In winter, Central Street is adorned with dazzling lights, creating a magical ambiance. We wandered along its charming paths, soaking in the elegance and romance. Street vendors tempted us with a variety of local treats, from steaming Hot Pot to candied hawthorns and frozen pears, making the experience even more delightful.

 

 

Thrills in the Snow: The Adventure of Yabuli Ski Resort

For those who love ice and snow sports, Yabuli Ski Resort is undoubtedly the highlight of the trip. It is one of the earliest ski resorts in China, with high-quality ski slopes and complete facilities. 

Put on your ski gear and start your skiing trip. The thrill and excitement of speeding down the high slide will make you unforgettable. In addition to skiing, you can also try sledding, snowmobiling and other ice and snow sports to feel the joy and passion brought by ice and snow.

How can we not mention Harbin's food when we're in Harbin? In the cold winter, food is the most heart-warming thing. We tasted classic food such as steaming hot Northeast Hot Pot, crispy and delicious pot-wrapped pork, and fragrant red sausage stewed with sauerkraut. Each dish exudes a unique aroma, which makes people linger. 

In addition, Harbin's street snacks are also full of winter characteristics. Food such as candied haws, frozen pears and frozen persimmons not only have a unique taste, but according to locals, these foods all carry sweet memories of childhood.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
