Day 1-2: Qingdao – European Charm and Seaside Beauty

Begin your journey in Qingdao, a vibrant coastal city known for its European-style architecture and scenic beaches. Visit Zhanqiao Pier, an iconic spot with panoramic views of the ocean and the city’s skyline. The pier extends into the Yellow Sea and offers a fantastic photo opportunity. Afterward, explore the Badaguan Scenic Area, an area famous for its European-style villas and peaceful gardens.

Next, head to May Fourth Square, where you can admire the Red Sculpture, a symbol of Qingdao’s modern identity. Qingdao is also known for its beer, so don’t miss a visit to the Qingdao Beer Museum, where you can learn about the brewing process and sample some of the finest Tsingtao beer.

For some beach time, head to Shilaoren Beach or No.1 Bathing Beach. Both offer clean sandy beaches and clear waters, perfect for swimming or relaxing by the sea. Qingdao is a fantastic city to enjoy a mix of cultural exploration and coastal recreation.

Day 3-4: Mount Laoshan – A Taoist Retreat

Travel to Mount Laoshan, one of China’s five sacred Taoist mountains, known for its ancient temples, mystical atmosphere, and stunning landscapes. Take a cable car or hike up to Jufeng Temple and Yuhuangding Temple, both perched on the slopes of the mountain. These temples are not only historically significant but also offer a serene space for reflection and appreciation of nature.

The mountain’s natural beauty is its main attraction, with lush forests, waterfalls, and cliffside temples. Hiking here is a spiritual journey, and the views of the surrounding area, especially the distant Yellow Sea, are mesmerizing.

Day 5-6: Yantai and Weihai – Coastal Relaxation

After Mount Laoshan, continue your journey to Yantai, a quiet coastal city with picturesque beaches. Visit Yantai Hill Park, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the city and the sea. The park is home to the old lighthouse, which offers a glimpse of the city’s maritime history.

Next, head to Weihai, another beautiful coastal city known for its pristine beaches and tranquil atmosphere. Spend your time at Weihai International Beach Resort, a fantastic spot for sunbathing, swimming, or enjoying beach activities. You can also visit Liugong Island, which is rich in history and natural beauty. The island offers a quiet retreat with ancient forts and spectacular coastal views.

Final Tip:

To fully enjoy Shandong’s diverse attractions, it’s recommended to use a combination of high-speed rail and local Transportation, such as taxis or buses. If you plan to visit the coastal cities, be sure to pack light clothing and sunscreen, as the weather can be hot and sunny, especially during the summer months.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
