One day trip in Shanghai
Hi, just wondering is it possible to cover Tianzifang, Biennale, Museum of contemporary art, M50 Historical art district, Nanjing east and west road, People’s Square, Yuyuan garden, Former French Concession Precint, the bund in one day? And what to see in xujiahui? Is it similar like Nanjing West and East road? Which one is more recommended to go? Any place you may recommend to visit in?

1. It’s nearly impossible to cover all the mentioned Shanghai attractions in one day due to their scattered locations and the time required. Here’s an optimized plan: Key Attractions in 1 Day Morning: Classic Huangpu District Route: People’s Square (Shanghai Museum) → Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street (shopping) → The Bund (daytime architecture, evening skyline). Transport: Direct access via Metro Lines 1/2/8; walk between sites. Afternoon: Old Town & Art Districts: Yu Garden (Jiangnan-style garden) → Tianzifang (Shikumen art block) → Power Station of Art (visit permanent/temporary exhibitions if the Biennale isn’t on). Transport: 10-minute taxi from Yu Garden to Tianzifang; Metro Line 9 from Tianzifang to the museum. Evening: Former French Concession & Night Views: Former French Concession (Wukang Road, Anfu Road) → Xujiahui (Hong Kong Hui Commercial Centre for shopping) → The Bund at night (best 19:00–21:00). Transport: Metro Line 11 from the Concession to Xujiahui; 20-minute taxi from Xujiahui to The Bund. 2.Xujiahui vs. Nanjing Road Xujiahui: Features high-end malls (Grand Gateway, Metro City) and cultural spots (Xujiahui Library, Xu Guangqi Memorial), ideal for shopping with historical depth. Nanjing Road: A traditional pedestrian street with dense crowds, perfect for experiencing old Shanghai’s commercial vibe. Recommendation: Prioritize Xujiahui (shopping + culture) for limited time; choose Nanjing Road for historical charm. 3. Extra Recommendations M50 Creative Park: An industrial art district great for photography, but located farther (Putuo District) – allocate half a day separately. Xuhui Riverside: Home to art venues (Long Museum, West Bund Art Museum) and a riverside promenade, ideal for art lovers. Shanghai Concert Hall/Grand Theatre: Catch an evening performance to experience Shanghai’s cultural scene.
