Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. Q & A

Asked by Thomson from US | July 28,2025 17:12
What’s one thing most tourists forget to pack for Chengdu that would make their trip easier?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 28,2025 17:15
A small hand fan! Chengdu’s humidity makes even mild temperatures feel sticky. Foldable fans (¥15 at street markets) are a lifesaver during tea ceremonies or outdoor walks. Locals carry them year-round—even in winter!
Asked by Sabina Tobias from Brazil | July 28,2025 16:41
hi, I’m traveling solo.
Are there any evening activities in the historic district where I can meet locals or other travelers?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 28,2025 17:15
Join a "Sichuan Opera Face-Changing" show at Shu Feng Ya Yun Theater (¥80–¥200). Afterward, locals often gather at "Tea House No. 8" to discuss the performance. Strike up a conversation with: "Nǐ jué de biàn liǎn nán ma?" ("Do you think face-changing is hard?"). You’ll make friends in no time!

I want to buy a paper-cutting of the Chengdu Panda
but I’m afraid it’ll get crushed in my luggage. Any packaging tips?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 28,2025 17:16
Ask the artist to roll it in bamboo paper and place it in a cardboard tube (¥10 extra). For extra protection, wrap the tube in bubble wrap. Locals often carry souvenirs in reusable cloth bags (bù dài)—eco-friendly and sturdy!
Asked by Abraham from Indonesia | July 28,2025 15:57
The lunch menu mentions "seasonal ingredients."
What’s in season in Chengdu during spring/summer vs. autumn/winter?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 28,2025 17:16
Spring/Summer: Cooling dishes like "Bitter Melon with Black Beans" and "Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce" to combat heat. Autumn/Winter: Hearty stews like "Hot Pot with Sichuan Peppercorns" and "Braised Pork Belly with Taro" for warmth. The chef might adjust based on daily market arrivals—ask to see the "tè sè cài" (special dishes) board!
Asked by Joule from Ireland | July 28,2025 15:00
Can I buy a Long-Mouth Teapot as a souvenir?
I want to buy one for my friend. Where’s the best place?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 28,2025 17:20
Yes. The best place to find authentic, high-quality ones is in the historic districts of Chengdu, especially around Kuanzhai Alley or the area near Wenshu Monastery. These areas have family-run shops that specialize in traditional tea utensils, where you can find both decorative teapots and smaller, practical ones suitable for home use.
