What itinerary can you recommednd to visit in Nanjing for two days with one overningt stay?
My husband and I are visiting the city leaving Shanghai on Friday morning and have to be at the Pudong Airport before 10:00 pm on Saturday. Please advice for the best itinerary, to get most of our time to see the attractions and time to relax and enjoy the food as well.

Day 1 (Friday)
Morning: Arrive in Nanjing, check into a hotel near Xinjiekou/Confucius Temple Area.
Afternoon: Visit Zhongshan Scenic Area—take a sightseeing bus to connect Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, climb Linggu Tower for panoramic views at dusk.
Evening: Night tour of Confucius Temple-Qinhuai River, try local snacks like duck blood vermicelli soup and Nanjing salted duck.
Day 2 (Saturday)
Morning: Visit Nanjing Museum, lunch at Kexiang Market for Xu Ayi’s rice dumplings and Dezhou Braised Chicken lotus root stuffed with minced chicken.
Afternoon: Tour Presidential Palace → explore Laomendong → relax with a walk around Xuanwu Lake.
Evening: Depart before 18:00 for Shanghai by high-speed train (1.5 hours), transfer via metro to Pudong Airport to arrive by 22:00.
